Paul Peterson

A self-described “wordmonger” with a long career in journalism, research, nonprofits, editing, and writing, Paul Peterson joined Phenomenal Publishing in 2012 as vice president and chief editor. He became company president in 2016, and specializes in the acquisition and editing of all Phenomenal publications.

Paul graduated from the University of Missouri in Columbia with multiple degrees, including the areas of Journalism, Russian Language and Literature, and Library and Informational Science. He worked many years at an eminent research institution in the Midwest, then began a new career phase in nonprofit marketing and public relations. He created and edited numerous books and educational materials, with the Truman Presidential Library as his main client.

A lifelong gardener and arborist, in the ‘90s Paul became the Managing Editor of Gardening How-To magazine. For many years there, he also edited and authored a number of books on gardening and outdoor-living topics, including Roses Made Easy, The New Rose, The New American Kitchen Garden, and The Home Gardener’s Journal.

Paul moved to Florida in 2005, and has continued his work in magazines, newspapers, and research for such varied clients as Rodale Press, Blake & Blake, Research America, First Coast magazine, the American Rose Society, and local newspapers. Deeply interested in the world of addiction recovery and spiritual growth, he has a number of inspirational book projects in the works for Phenomenal Publishing.

As a Master Gardener certified in multiple states, Paul loves tending his trees and gardens when taking a break from the publishing desk.
